Essence .itx Documentation (Linearsm.itx)

[ Back ]

The Linearsm texture is very similar to the Impulse Linear texture except for the added Sharpness control that allows you to make a smoother transition.

This texture will basically divide your object into three regions. One region will be your original object surface, one region will be a solid colour you can define, and the third region is the transition at the boundary between the two areas. Linearsm will split up your object based on the Z value of the object’s texture axis. A point with a Z value higher than a specified value will be coloured.

REQUESTER TABS

  • Transition Distance:
The starting position Z value where the transition to the colour first starts.
  • Transition Width:
The width of the transition band.
  • Sharpness:
How smoothly the transition blends with the surface colour. 0 is a very gradual, smooth fade, and 1.0 is a linear fade like Impulse’s.
  • Color RGB:
The colour applied to your object.
  • Reflect RGB:
The reflect value applied to your object.
  • Filter RGB:
The filter value applied to your object.
  • Fade Value:
This parameter allows you to control the strength at which the texture is applied to the object's surface; a value of 0.0 applies the texture at maximum strength, whereas a value of 1.0 makes the effects of texture invisible. MQ_
